Rochelle Porto joins us this week to discuss Benedict Arnold. Was he a traitor or was he living out his true belief as a loyalist? His story is complex and the way he was treated leading up to his betrayal left him open to choosing sides, rather than following the people seeking independence. History writes the story of the victors, but life is always more complicated.

Benedict Arnold and many of the people Scott was referring to who surrounded our Founding Fathers all had one thing in common: they weren’t pew-sitters, couch surfers, or football cheerleaders watching from the sidelines. Whether their actions ultimately proved good or bad, they were involved. They stepped into the arena, took risks, made decisions, and helped shape the course of this nation. History tends to remember those who got up and did something, not those who simply watched others do it

Another wonderful episode 🤜🤛🏼. I was stunned to learn Benedict Arnold was...16, a mere child. It didn’t take him long to figure out the game. I agree that taking this personal research angle broadens results. George Washingtons prayer is so beautiful and one that should be said on the 250th, its the blessing this Country needs 🙏 Thank you both so much 😊💜
