Digging Into the Word: “These are all idolatries that consume us, and in my opinion, deafen us to God’s voice.”

---

WHAT THIS EPISODE COVERS
Scott Kesterson and Brad Cummings continue the Ten Words series with the second word, no graven images, in Exodus 20:4 to 6. Brad explains why he reads the Ten Words as an invitation into relationship, what the Hebrew behind “visiting the iniquity of the fathers” can mean, and why God revealed Himself to Moses as a bush that burned and was not consumed. Scott ties idolatry to online rage, status chasing, and fear-driven end-times messaging, and the two discuss using AI as a tool without letting it become an oracle.

---

KEY QUESTIONS ADDRESSED
— What does the second commandment mean in the Hebrew?
— What does “visiting the iniquity of the fathers” mean in Exodus 20:5?
— Why are the Ten Commandments called the Ten Words?
