Joy should be our natural state. Unfortunately, everything about this world is attacking joy, and in turn working to separate us from God and from ourselves. We are quick to judgement and slow to empathy. Everything that we have thought to be sacred in this world is being shaken and destroyed. We are living through an extreme transformation of this world. Ai and robots are replacing human creativity and jobs. Everyone will be affected. It is time for us to see the bigger picture... we cannot do this without God and we cannot do this without empathy for one another. Follow the way of Christ.

We have the same benefit culture in the UK and of course like yours, it’s taken advantage of not least by Muslims. Many would celebrate a SNAP situation (perhaps coming here?) but it is horrifying that people do celebrate. What’s going to happen? Break the law or watch your kids starve? Those that cheer for SNAP happening - you were indifferent to starving kids in Gaza so perhaps you can excuse it to yourselves. But one day you will have to face yourself before God, remember that friends

I don’t know the USA welfare system, but I do know the Canadian welfare system. What I can tell you is that for decades the Canadian government not only makes it difficult to receive funds but they’ve also reduced the amount per month to such a low amount & to the point that many welfare recipients can’t even afford paying rent never mind utilities & food etc etc. So my question to you Scott is this; just how long should the “transition“ be to allow them a soft fall? How long?
