So basically IF we loved children we would be protecting them by standing for what is right in all areas - schools, home, homeless kids etc - no matter what the cost to ourselves. No greater love. But we outsource it to legislators because we are busy, afraid or indifferent?

Brad is far more Scripturally erudite than I am but Matthew 5 -38 following the Beatitudes? I’ve never been quite clear what it means but Jesus said it. I’m assuming it means that it’s only through our love, reflecting our Father, can we change the World through that most powerful emotion. So we protect the children/rescue/heal/restore because of love. Those who harm them will face Gods justice when they leave here - which explains why they are so afraid to die, and hate God. Just my take.
