We are using up all the things we have laying around the yard to build beds to grow veggies like bricks and pallets making compost beds with those and planting strawberries in them which Pinterest has great ideas 💡

Sorry, not hydroponics. Aquaponics, it keeps fish in tanks and the waste from the fish is converted into nutrients that flow into the water the plants use to grow in and the water continuously flows back to the fish tanks to cycle through. Really efficient and effective. You don't use soil. And once it is up and running you use less much water than traditional soil farming.

My husband and I have been researching hydroponics for growing food. It is really awesome looking. We hope to start our own maybe witin the next year. Once we get comfortable, we hope to expand to provide to the community. You should look into it, there are good videos on the nasty app Youtube.

Scott, love your podcasts. Not only gardens, but many people also raise their own chickens, sheep, cattle etc. our Son & his family ( central Oregon) have started to give classes to friends & neighbors on how to raise & harvest their own “ stock” for the reasons that you have mentioned. Yes, western washington, too. We use hoops and flannel tops. I over winter all my herbs, onions, and carrots. We have a farm stand garden and all over plant goes goes directly to our local food bank.
