Look into "unschooling". You don't have to replicate the government school approach. I did for my two children as a single father. One is now a pediatric dentist and the other is a science teacher. When homeschooling you can pick the best activities with other choice children and the best adult leaders, avoiding the bad kids. I believe that it is a mortal sin to abdicate your responsibility for teaching your children to the state.

I have a friend by the name of Paul Z. who is writing a book of the fight for freedom to educate children without state control in Nebraska In the 80s. Churches were locked up for teaching without state ministers were put in jail and homeschoolers were also jailed. Their stories all in this book. The book is gone to the publisher should be ready in about six months. Hopefully Paul Z will get back and leave an address . Raymond and Dorothy Moore are both in this book.

Home schooling is great! I was homeschooled late 50's thru early 60's..I went to school year around and recieved an education. I homeschooled great nieces often even tho they attended public school. They both have excelled in both of their professions and continue to do so. Several friends have homeschooled their children, and now grandchildren. Socialization isn't an issue, all these children have excellent healthy God based friends. God bless.

Cont..... grandchildren to have. But because of reasons Jim Pugh has already pointed out, I do not have the relationship with my adult children I wish I had. They are not interested in my thoughts or guidance. They get everything they need and the info they want from the internet 😕.

If I could do it all over again I would definitely home school. There were not as many resources available at the time. Most of all, I didn’t have faith in myself. I am glad you are touching on this, but I question how much of your listener base still has school age children. I am making an assumption, but I feel most of us have passed that and already have to deal with the guilt everyday of what we wish we would have done differently.
